WALLA WALLA VALLEY, WA

Summit View Cabernet bottle

2017 "Wallula Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon, $45

The meticulously farmed Wallula Vineyard is located in “The Benches” of Horse Heaven Hills, a prominent area above the Columbia River with extraordinary soil – a mix of glacial marine sediments left behind by the ancient Missoula floods. Planted in 1997 with Southern-facing vines at approx. 1100ft., Wallula has become one of the most sought-after vineyards in the state. The vineyard’s proximity to the river is ideal, acting as an insulator from heat by day and providing a cooling effect at night.

Summit View Cabernet bottle

2017 "Summit View Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon, $35

Summit View Vineyard sits at a Northeastern slope, 1200-ft. in elevation on the Oregon side of the Walla Walla Valley. Planted in 2009, 67 acres of six Cabernet Sauvignon clones grow in nutrient-rich Ellingford Silt Loam, atop a base of fractured basalt. The vineyard’s location provides excellent air movement, resulting in frost-free conditions to grow bold yet balanced Cabernet Sauvignon.

91-POINTS, Wine Enthusiast: "From an up-and-coming region of the valley, this Cabernet offers appealing aromas of blue plum, baking spices and dried herbs. It’s loaded with full-feeling blueberry and cherry flavors that hit the gong hard. A firm sense of tannin and acid structure backs it up. Delivers a lot of quality and value." –Sean Sullivan

2016 "Summit View Vineyard" Cabernet Sauvignon, sold out

94-POINTS, Wine & Spirits: "...captures the element of wind-driven fruit – of purple flowers and dark purple skins, grippy and vinous. It feels fresh, focused and lean, the texture dominated by invigorating tannins and mouthwatering acid." –PJC

TASTING NOTES: The 2016 Joleté “Summit View” Cabernet begins with a very inviting nose of baking cocoa, boysenberry, and roasted coffee. The palate follows with violets and black cherry, and hints of black raspberry. Bright acid and chalky tannins give it the structure needed to develop beautifully through at least 2024.
